Video revealed of the chase in which foreigners accused of murdering a ride-share driver in Bogotá were captured: the car overturned

The Bogotá Metropolitan Police confirmed the capture of two foreigners accused of murdering an app driver during a violent robbery on July 22 in northern Bogotá.
According to authorities, the victim was intimidated with a firearm to steal his vehicle.
In the security camera footage from the area, the driver’s screams were heard, as he pleaded for his life before being shot multiple times.
“No please, don’t do anything to me (…), Don’t do anything to me, I’m getting out now, don’t do anything to me,” the victim said.
Although he tried to walk to ask for help, the driver died due to the severity of his injuries.

The moment when the Bogotá Metropolitan Police captured two Venezuelan citizens, aged 18 and 20, in the El Codito sector, in the Usaquén locality, was recorded on video.

The colonel of the Usaquén police station, Ricardo Chaves, gave more details of the procedure: “These individuals had requested this service through an application from the city center to the north, and at some point along Carrera Séptima, they had intimidated this driver, making him drive up towards the hill in the upper part (…). In this pursuit, upon finding the vehicle, these subjects lost control of the vehicle, colliding with the median at Calle 183 with Séptima.”
The images show how the stolen car looked. It ended up overturned on the road, after losing control during the police chase in which the alleged perpetrators were trying to escape. In addition, it was tilted on one of its sides.

Authorities made the arrest effective when the subjects were forced to get out of the car and flee on foot.
Following this, the alleged perpetrators of the driver’s murder were placed at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office to answer for the crimes of theft, aggravated homicide, and illegal possession of firearms.
