The authorities are investigating the discovery of two women found dead inside an apartment located in a residential complex in the Bosa locality, in the south of Bogotá.
The case, reported this Thursday, occurred during the morning of Wednesday, September 16, in a property of the Parques de Bogotá-Alcaparro complex, located near Calle 80 Bis with Carrera 24.
According to the report from the Bogotá Metropolitan Police obtained by EL TIEMPO, the events were reported at approximately 10:37 a.m. Apparently, a man was the one who informed the authorities about the situation and, after receiving the alert, the officers went to the apartment to verify what had happened.
Upon entering the property, they found two women in different areas of the residence.
According to the information provided by the Police, one of the women “was on the floor,” in the hallway outside one of the rooms, while the second was found “inside the room, on a bed.”
The report states that both were 66 and 39 years old and were located inside a residence at Calle 80 Bis Sur 94-21, in the Bosa locality. This exact location corresponds to the Parques de Bogotá-Alcaparro residential complex.
The information known about the procedure indicates that the alert allowed the officers to go to the property and verify the conditions in which the two women were found.
The report given to the authorities also included initial information about what might have happened inside the apartment. The Police indicated that, apparently, it would be a “mother and her daughter” and that they might have died due to “a poisonous substance.”
However, this information corresponds to an initial hypothesis and the circumstances surrounding the deaths must be established through the investigation.
Sources from the Attorney General’s Office told EL TIEMPO that, based on the initial conditions found in the apartment, no signs of violence were observed. However, the entity indicated that the corresponding procedures must still be carried out to determine what happened and establish the circumstances of the two women’s deaths.
In this regard, the Attorney General’s Office told EL TIEMPO that at the scene “there are no visible signs of aggression.” The entity added that regarding the circumstances of the death, one must “wait for the investigation, that is, nothing can be affirmed yet,” so the authorities continue the procedure to establish the facts.
For now, the bodies were transferred to Legal Medicine and the case was handed over to the competent authorities, who must determine what happened inside the apartment and whether third parties were involved in the circumstances in which the two women died. For this, the elements found in the property and the results of the corresponding proceedings must be taken into account.
