Around 3 PM this Thursday, June 4, a strong explosion occurred in a coal mine in the Peñas village of the municipality of Sutatausa, Cundinamarca. Authorities are moving towards the location.
The Cundinamarca Fire Department Delegation reported that the Ubaté Volunteer Fire Department, the Sutatausa Substation, the Mining Rescue Team on the move, with support from Crue de Cundinamarca, the police, the area’s ambulance, along with the mayor’s office, are at the scene.

The Ubaté Volunteer Fire Department, Sutatausa Substation, reported that apparently 6 miners are trapped. The aforementioned entities are carrying out the first rescue of a miner, who is being evaluated at the moment. 
At the request of the PMU, the activation of the Red Cross with psychological support is underway, deploying from the municipalities of Zipaquirá and Tocancipá.
The National Mining Agency stated that it maintains active response and monitoring protocols for this situation, in coordination with other competent authorities.
