A shootout was recorded in the afternoon of this Thursday, September 3 and caused moments of panic among drivers traveling through the NQS, near the La Castellana neighborhood, in the locality of Barrios Unidos, in the north of Bogotá.
The incident occurred around 6 in the afternoon and, according to authorities, it would be related to an alleged case of robbery.

How did the events occur according to the video?
At the beginning of the video, it can be seen how two people subdue who would be the victim of the theft, who was wearing a reflective jacket and a red helmet. In a matter of seconds, the two alleged criminals take what would be a suitcase in which, apparently, the foreign currency that was later reported stolen was being transported.
While one of the men, who was wearing a light-colored shirt or jacket, flees on a motorcycle and continues shooting, the victim manages to get up from the floor, after having been knocked down during the incident.
Once standing, the victim draws a firearm and begins to shoot at the alleged criminals in the middle of the road. The images show how he tries to chase them while continuing to fire the weapon.
In the background of the scene, one of the motorcycles lying on the ground can also be seen, along with the motorcycle on which the victim was traveling. Subsequently, the man continues moving through the streets of the area, apparently searching for those responsible for the theft.
What is the report from the authorities?
According to the official report from the National Police, known by EL TIEMPO, four men traveling on two motorcycles allegedly intercepted a citizen carrying a large sum of money in foreign currency.
The victim reacted by using a firearm of his own and managed to hit one of the alleged perpetrators in one of his legs.
After learning about the incident, the officers activated a lockdown plan and managed to locate one of the suspects, who was traveling on a motorcycle. The man, 46 years old, was taken to a medical center to receive medical attention. During the procedure, the police found a 9-millimeter caliber pistol and a ballistic vest that had an image alluding to Santa Muerte.
The authorities reported that the money was recovered in full. In addition, the arrested individual has a criminal record for illegal possession of firearms and qualified and aggravated theft, so he was placed at the disposal of the competent authorities.
