Closures and detours in Bogotá for the 2026 Solidarity Walk this Sunday, August 30: learn about affected roads, schedules, and alternate routes

This Sunday, August 30, the fourth edition of the Solidarity Walk 2026 will take place in Bogotá, an event aimed at supporting the communities affected by the emergency Colombia is facing after the earthquake on August 10.
The event will start and finish at the Nemesio Camacho El Campín Stadium, will feature four distances, and will cause traffic restrictions in different areas of the west-central and northern parts of the city.

Road closures and schedules for the Solidarity Walk 2026

According to information from the District Mobility Secretariat (SDM), restrictions will begin at 6:00 a.m. and the reopening of roads will be done progressively, once cleaning and logistical clearance have been verified.
Most routes will reopen at 11:30 a.m., while a section of Avenida Carrera 30 (NQS) will open at 10:00 a.m.
The established closures are:
  • 57A Street, between Avenida Carrera 30 (NQS) and Carrera 27A: until 11:30 a.m.
  • Carrera 27A, between 57A Street and Diagonal 61C: until 11:30 a.m.
  • Diagonal 61C, between Avenida Carrera 30 (NQS) and Avenida Carrera 24: until 11:30 a.m.
  • Avenida Carrera 30 (NQS), slow western lane, between Diagonal 61C and Avenida Calle 68: until 11:30 a.m.
  • Avenida Carrera 30 (NQS), slow western lane, between Avenida Calle 68 and Calle 92: until 10:00 a.m.
  • Avenida Carrera 24, western lane, between Calle 62 and Diagonal 61C: until 11:30 a.m.
  • Transversal 28, between Diagonal 61C and Calle 53B Bis: until 11:30 a.m.
  • Carrera 28, between Calle 53B Bis and Avenida Calle 53: until 11:30 a.m.
  • Avenida Calle 53, northern lane, between Avenida Carrera 60 and Carrera 27: until 11:30 a.m.
  • Avenida Carrera 60, both lanes, between Avenida Calle 63 and Avenida Calle 53: until 11:30 a.m.

Route of the 21K Race through Bogotá

The SDM detailed that the 21-kilometer race will start inside the El Campín Stadium. From there, the route will continue along 57A Street westward, will turn back east on Avenida Carrera 30 (NQS), and continue along 57A Street to Carrera 27A.
The route will continue along Diagonal 61C westward and connect with Avenida Carrera 30 (NQS), where it will proceed north along the western lane to Calle 92, where a turnaround southward will be made.
Afterwards, participants will take Diagonal 61C eastward and Avenida Carrera 24 northward. At Calle 62, another turnaround will be made to continue south along Avenida Carrera 24, Transversal 28, and Carrera 28.
In the Simón Bolívar Park area, the route will continue along Avenida Calle 53 and Avenida Carrera 60. The route includes turnarounds at Avenida Calle 63, as well as a passage along Calle 56 westward.
At the end, runners will return to Carrera 66A and proceed along Avenida Calle 53, Carrera 28, Transversal 28, and Diagonal 61C until re-entering via 57A Street.

Detours for drivers during the Solidarity Walk

For the Simón Bolívar Park area, the SDM established these alternatives:
  • North-south via Avenida Carrera 60: Avenida Calle 63 westward and Avenida Carrera 68 or Avenida Carrera 70 (Avenida Rojas) southward.
  • East-west via Avenida Calle 53: Carrera 27, Calle 53B, Avenida Carrera 24, Avenida Calle 45, NQS, and Avenida Calle 26.
  • South-north via Avenida Carrera 50: Avenida Calle 26 or Avenida Calle 53 eastward and connection with the NQS.
  • From Avenida Calle 26 northward: Avenida Carrera 68 or Avenida Boyacá.
  • North-south via Avenida Carrera 24: Avenida Calle 63 westward and connection with the NQS.
In the El Campín and NQS area, alternate routes are also considered:
  • From Avenida Calle 80 southward: continue west and take Avenida Carrera 68.
  • From Avenida Calle 72 southward: Avenida Calle 63 westward and Avenida Carrera 68 or Avenida Rojas.
  • From Avenida Calle 68 southward: Avenida Calle 63 and Avenida Carrera 60.
  • From Avenida Calle 63 southward: continue east and connect with the NQS.
  • From Avenida Carrera 24 southward: Calle 62, Carrera 26, Avenida Calle 63, Carrera 19A, and Carrera 18.

Open roads and mobility recommendations in Bogotá

During the operation, the following will remain open:
  • Avenida NQS: only south-north direction.
  • Avenida Carrera 68: north-south direction.
  • Avenida Rojas: both directions.
  • Avenida Calle 68: both directions.
  • Avenida Calle 63: both directions, except affected intersections.
The SDM recommends using public transportation, such as SITP and TransMilenio, and avoiding travel by private vehicle in the areas where disruptions will occur.
It also advises planning trips at least 60 minutes in advance, considering alternatives such as walking or cycling, and following the instructions of the traffic authorities and the signage installed during the event.
