The authorities of Bogotá and Mosquera have already begun gathering information about the alleged person responsible for the murder of little Ana Lucía González, whose body was found lifeless in a sewer in the Ciudad Bolívar locality.
What is known so far is that testimonies from the girl’s family point to the partner of one of her sisters as the alleged culprit, with whom she reportedly had an altercation hours before the girl disappeared.
The search in Venezuela
One of the girl’s sisters told EL TIEMPO’s Citytv channel that it all started after her then partner found a message from a man on her phone.
“It started with a message I received in the morning hours. He checks my phone and notices the message was from a man, then he reacts very violently, starts breaking things,” said the girl’s sister.
She added that she asked the girl to go to a nearby bakery to ask for help while she went to a CAI, but when she returned to look for her, she was no longer there.
The person they refer to is Shenner José Rojas Larez, 29 years old, who remains in the hands of the authorities.
The cameras
A preliminary report states that video cameras are being collected from both the Mosquera area, where the girl’s family lives, and Ciudad Bolívar, where her body was found, so that those close to the girl can identify if the man appearing in some images from that route is the same. A motorcycle is key.
What is known is that along that distance – more than 26 kilometers – security videos may have recorded the moment when Rojas Larez took the girl, whom he had known for months.
EL TIEMPO’s Investigative Unit investigated and established that, according to documents found on him, the man is originally from La Guaira (Venezuela) and that for a time he lived in Maicao (La Guajira), where inquiries are underway about his activities and why he moved to Bogotá a few months ago.
With a record?
“We know he was called ‘el Negro’ and that he has relatives settled in Ibagué, who could provide information about his previous behavior,” a source informed EL TIEMPO.
In an initial check of databases from the neighboring country, there is a person with the same name who has records for theft, but it is being confirmed whether it is the same person or a namesake.
What is established is that his name appears in a family case involving a custody dispute.

For now, the motorcycle he used to move around Mosquera is one of the clues to establish the route he took with the girl.
And investigators reconstructed the route the man would have taken on the motorcycle, starting from the Porvenir neighborhood in Mosquera, with the girl, and then taking Calle 13, returning 7 minutes later to the place where Ana Lucía was allegedly kidnapped.
The report from Legal Medicine is awaited and the man will be prosecuted for aggravated homicide, abusive carnal access with a minor under fourteen years old, and sexual acts with a minor under 14 years old.
