EL TIEMPO’s Investigative Unit established with high sources from the Attorney General’s Office that a commission from the Prosecutor’s Office is inspecting the 26th floor of the main building of the control entity, located in downtown Bogotá, after the discovery of a hole in one of the windows was reported.
“What is being sought is to establish the origin of the impact on the side facing the eastern hills and specifically the universities located in that area,” explained the same source.
The Attorney General’s Offices
Officially, the Attorney General’s Office informed that no statements will be given until the Prosecutor’s Office establishes the origin of the impact.
However, informed sources assured that alarms were raised because the offices of Attorney General Gregorio Eljach and Deputy Attorney General Julian Andrés Fernández are on the 25th floor.
When asked which offices operate on the 26th floor, they said lawyers’ and advisors’ offices. And in fact, it was one of them who reported the discovery of the hole.
“It cannot be confirmed if it is a rifle shot, but it cannot be ruled out either. In any case, the hole would have been made by a horizontal impact from at least 2 kilometers away,” the same source told EL TIEMPO.
For the moment, the 26th floor of the control entity remains cordoned off.
Journalist Melquisedec Torres noted that two bullet casings, presumably from a rifle, were also found. That information is being verified.
