On the morning of this Tuesday, the Institute of Legal Medicine published the first list of identified victims after the strong earthquake that occurred on Monday, August 10, which so far leaves a total of 188 dead, 2,595 injured, and 195 missing.
The entity assured that they have already identified 43 bodies that entered the Basic Units of Pereira, Manizales, Quibdó, and Buenaventura.
These are the profiles
Legal Medicine confirmed the identities of the victims in Manizales that EL TIEMPO’s Investigative Unit revealed yesterday: Fernando Alonso González (70 years old), who was in the La Estación building and was taken to a health center and died due to injuries caused during the seismic event.
As well as Catalina Arango Sandoval (18 years old), Óscar de Jesús Henao Marín (78 years old), and Luis Alberto Duque Cortes (42 years old).
The list of victims in Pereira is the longest. EL TIEMPO established that among the deceased is Juan Manuel Toro Sánchez, 30 years old, who was a renowned doctor specialized in radiology.
As well as Sandra Patricia Chica Montoya, 47 years old, who was a furniture merchant in Pereira and had her establishment in the city center.
Among the victims is also Julián Andrés Mejía Moreno, 27 years old, who worked as an official of the Registry Office.
Added to this is Wilson de Jesús Largo Trejos, 57 years old, who was an engineer and merchant in Pereira, and had a repair and maintenance establishment for technological equipment.
Also, Gilberto de Jesús Giraldo López, 74 years old, who was a retired sergeant of the Anserma, Caldas fire department.
Also, the motorcycle merchant Deisy Zulkerine Rodríguez Mejía, 38 years old, and her husband, Dargui González Guerrero, 49, originally from Ureña, Venezuela.
Also included are Luis Fernando Ossa Hernández (62 years old), Pedronel Díaz Díaz (64), Aracelly Daza Valencia (61), Derly Angélica Martínez Flórez (25), Vanessa Gómez Molina (28), Kevin Styven Álvarez Mosquera (30), and Rosa Angélica Maya Maya (76), and Lina Marcela Rodas Cuartas (37) and a minor of 17 years old.
The other victims were identified as Pilar Jiménez Toquiar (81), Sergiña Monzada Aguirre (71), Argensola del Socorro González (82), Paula Andrea Franco Bustamante (44), Ángela María Acosta González (46),
In the same city of Pereira, also identified were María Mariela Granada Echeverry (67), Guillermo Orrego Flórez (59), Blanca Libia Hincapié Londoño (82), José Fernando Valencia Cañas (51), Paula Milena Villaneda Franco (23), Sorley Aracelly Villa Guevara (64), Juan Carlos Urquijo (33), Aleida Campiño Trujillo (63), Mariana Santa Gómez (65), María Dalila Moncada Aguirre (84) and José Fernando Granada Gutiérrez (60) and Pablo Andrés Rivera Avirama, 26 years old and originally from Popayán.
Buenaventura, Quibdó, and the minors
EL TIEMPO’s Investigative Unit established this morning that in the municipality of Calima El Darién, 4 minors died when a wall of the Gimnasio Calima school, María Inmaculada branch, fell on them.
The deceased minors were identified as Jesús Muñoz Quinceno, 6 years old, María José Lozada Torres, 5 years old, Emanuel Bastidas Arredondo, 6 years old, and Anthony Ríos Gómez, 8 years old. The latter was transferred to Buga but died while being transported in a private car.
In Bahía Solano, they are also mourning the death of Mateo, the son of the municipality’s mayor, only 6 years old.
Meanwhile, in Buenaventura, one of the victims is the dentist Martha Patricia Correa Grueso, whose home collapsed in the Porvenir neighborhood. Also,Mabel Cristina Carvajal Posada 58 years old, who was a merchant of a hardware store in the city, and Carlos Alberto Rosero Pretel, 47 years old.
Finally, in the city of Quibdó, the official record includes Bibiana Buitrago Zuluaga 36 years old, Daniela Sánchez Morales, 28, and Juan Antonio Galeano Restrepo, 35.
Although Berta Elena Rúa Ramírez, wife of the Budget Chief of the Juradó Chocó mayor’s office, does not appear on the Legal Medicine list, the municipality mourns her death due to the seismic event.
